From hand movements to bladder control, Zachary Danziger studies how the nervous system directs the body's actions.

From moving a finger to controlling a bladder, countless bodily functions depend on complex neural communication networks. Coulter BME Associate Professor Zachary Danziger studies how the nervous system directs these processes and what happens when those signals break down. His lab combines artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and engineering to develop new ways to study brain-computer interfaces and understand conditions such as underactive bladder. Through collaborations spanning multiple disciplines, Danziger's team is uncovering insights that could lead to improved treatments and technologies for restoring lost function.
